THE STUDIO
Alison Madsen is the founder and creative director of The Petal Project.
Drawn to gardens and the way flowers grow, Alison creates installations that feel rooted in their setting rather than placed in it. She works with the character of each space, with the season's flowers and foliage, and often with large-scale pots and urns. The result is layered, organic and made especially for that setting.
Couples come to Alison for a considered, collaborative approach and a studio that treats every venue as its own. Her work has been featured in Vogue and The Lane, and she designs weddings across Victoria, interstate and internationally.
"I've long drawn inspiration from gardens and garden design. Every installation begins with the character of the space: seasonal flowers and foliage, often large-scale pots and urns, arranged so the design feels as though it belongs to its surroundings.
We're always guided by the way flowers grow in nature. Our sweet spot is garden-style work that's layered, organic and individual to each setting."
